15 Weeks

~Our baby is now the size of an apple~

Feeling so far: Almost 15.5 weeks and feeling pretty good. Having occasional tension headaches that can be a bit painful. The all day nausea has subsided (Amen for the second trimester!!!) and I am feeling a bit more energized. Continuing to exercise and stay healthy.

Food cravings: Tomato Basil soup from Nordstrom Cafe or Cosi. The thought of that soup used to gross me out, now I can't get enough! And within 1.5 weeks, I ate two whole burritos from Qdoba Mexican Restaurant and loved them! (ha!) I usually don't get a whole burrito and will just order the burrito bowl minus the shell. I suppose the baby likes burritos. Yummy!

Gender: Not sure yet-Level 2 Ultrasound scheduled for December 16th!!!

Weight gain: 5 lbs.

Highlight of the week: Going to the park with my friend and seeing her two daughters and how happy they were to be sisters! I remember my childhood and how I enjoyed having a little sister and how nice it was to play together. I also made a trip to Babies R Us (a new one opened up close to where we live) and I enjoyed looking around and getting ideas for Baby Collins' room and imaging if Baby C was a boy or girl!

Looking forward to this week: Traveling to Louisville for Thanksgiving week to spend time with Ben's family. Looking forward to seeing my little niece and how much she has been growing and changing :)

Visit with Grams & Grandpa

Last week, Ben's parents came in from Louisville to spend some time with us. We had a lot of fun visiting with each other for a long weekend. We hung out, rented a movie, went out to eat, and walked at the park. Cody enjoyed having them around as well! We went over to my parents house for dinner on Thursday evening.

I took a picture of the grandparents-to-be. Ben's parents are already grandparents to baby Ava Robinson, but this will be the first for my parents! That day, I had went to my 12 weeks appointment (which went great!) and got to hear the heartbeat of Baby Collins for the first time! It was amazing! I took a recording of it so everyone could hear it.

Our parents are going to make excellent grandparents and there is no doubt that Baby Collins will be surrounded by such a loving & supportive family!

It was great having Linda & Dennis (aka Grams and Grandpa) come stay with us and we look forward to spending Thanksgiving with you guys! We love you.

10 Weeks

~Our baby is now the size of a kumquat~

Highlight of the week: Spending a long weekend at the ocean with my hubby and parents. It was a great weekend celebrating our anniversaries and the weather was so nice!
Gender of the baby: We won't find out until the beginning of December. :)
Food cravings: Chips & salsa, anything salty, pumpkin bagels with pumpkin cream cheese. Hungry every few hours it seems.
What I miss: My cup of hazelnut coffee from DD every morning and caffeine most of all.
Sleep: Sleeping well and feeling really tired by the middle of the day. I have been falling asleep on the couch while watching TV/movies.
What I look forward to: Hearing our baby's heart beat for the first time at our next appointment in 2 weeks!!!

2 years...

It has been 2 years since Ben and I got married on that cool & crisp Autumn day, October 18th, 2008! I can't believe how fast time has gone by and how much I have learned about being married in just two years. On that day, I married my best friend and feel the same way today. I have fallen in love with him even more and feel blessed to have him in my life. As I look forward to the future, my heart fills with joy to think of us as parents in the Spring and how great of a father Ben will be to our little one.
Last year we celebrated our one year anniversary at the mountains in a beautiful resort & spa in West Virginia. This year we will be spending it at the beach (one week early though). We will enjoy the cool weather at the ocean, bike ride on the boardwalk, hang out by the fire pit, and go out for nice dinners.
My parents will be joining us as well and we will celebrate our anniversaries together. Their 33rd wedding anniversary is on October 15th! It's so amazing that Ben and I both came from families where our parents are still happily married and have a great relationship. It's not always easy, but it's learning how to work together so you can grow together and create a stronger bond. Pictures from our get-a-way at the ocean to come...

~The day we tied the knot & became one!~

Ben, I am looking forward to making many more wonderful memories with you. I love you. XOXO

Preggo Friends!

On Tuesday, I got to spend the evening my with my great friend, Sarah. She and I met during college and became roomies together. She was in my wedding 2 years ago and even though we don't see each other than often, we talk on the phone and try to get together at least once every month or so to have dinner and catch up. The last time I got together with her she shared news that she and her husband were expecting in late February/March (right on or around my birthday!).
This time we got together for dinner, I was able to share our big news with her! I am so excited to see Sarah as a mommy and look forward to having our little ones play together. She had just went to her 20 week ultrasound appointment and found out she is having a baby girl! She showed me the pictures they gave her and they were amazing. You could see the little feet, hands, and face so well. I can't wait to experience that in December!
I didn't bring my camera, but fortunately she had one with her and we got the waitress to snap a picture of us before we left. Sarah has popped out a bit and started to show. She makes a super cute pregnant woman.
Congratulations and blessings, Sarah and Dan! We can't wait to meet your little baby girl!
